DXP HP-Plus Pump adds Natural Gas Liquid (NGL) capability to its already versatile pump-end

Standard horizontal pump-ends incorporate Ni-Resist bearings and sleeves for benign applications, and carbide bearing materials for abrasive fluids neither, of which will work with NGL. NGL requires self lubricated bearing materials to avoid pump-end breakdown.

The DXP HP-Plus Pump's newest update incorporates "Graphalloy" bearing and sleeve material minimizing pump-end breakdowns related to NGL pumping applications.

The HP-Plus Graphalloy 1:1 Ratio:

The 1:1 ratio refers to the number of graphalloy bushing's to stage composite with 1:1 being optimal for NGL applications.

Less than 1:1 ratio occurs when other materials such as Ni-Resist are mixed in with graphalloy bushings. Some horizontal pump systems currently in the market offer self lubricating bushing material's but mix in Ni-Resist or carbide bushings thus creating a less than perfect environment for optimal performance.

DXP HP-Plus engineered pump-ends insert graphalloy bushings in each and every stage within the pump-end (1:1) when NGL is the medium to be pumped allowing for optimal equipment performance for NGL applications.

Graphalloy is available for applications starting at 2,500 barrels per day (73 GPM) up to 30,000 barrels per day (875 GPM).

DXP HP-Plus Continues to Improve; Part by Part

During a recent tour of DXP's new San Antonio, Texas operation and presentation on the HP-Plus, the SA group asked a very basic question. "Do we offer a spark proof cover for the spacer coupler?"

Answer: In the past, as a standard, DXP's spacer coupling cover was not spark proof. However, after working with our vendors we are pleased to announce going forward DXP will be incorporating spark proof covers on all spacer couplers.
